For more than 100 years, the American Cancer Society® has worked to save lives and eliminate cancer as a major health problem. ACS is the largest voluntary health organization in the United States and is headquartered in Atlanta. Through efforts in education, patient outreach, research, and advocacy and public policy work, ACS seeks to help people stay well and get well by finding cures and fighting back.

Zeta Tau Alpha’s premier Think Pink® partnership is with the American Cancer Society as the National Survivor Ambassador of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer®. Each October, ACS organizes nearly 300 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® walks across the country, making it the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation. Each event is a noncompetitive three- to five-mile walk.

Starting in October 2015, ZTA alumnae and collegiate volunteers will provide assistance at the walks, and ZTA will help grow the ACS survivor recognition program. ZTA will be featured on the survivor T-shirt and more. Every walk will be an inspiring opportunity to honor those who have battled breast cancer and raise awareness about what we can do to reduce breast cancer risk.
